Cloudflare, an American company that provides secure access to online resources and specializes in protecting them from DDoS attacks, has labeled the russian state-run messaging app Max as a spy app.

This is evidenced by a corresponding label on the Cloudflare website, which was noted by the russian publication "Verstka."

In the description of the max.ru domain, you can see the label “Spyware.” This label is typically used to identify malicious programs that collect users’ confidential information and can track their actions in real time.

The publication notes that the description of the max.ru domain includes a TLS certificate, which verifies the site’s authenticity and ensures data encryption between the user’s browser and the server.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early March of this year, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stated that russia, the aggressor country, is promoting the Max messenger abroad. It is already available for download in 40 countries worldwide.

As a reminder, in February, Z-channels widely reported that russian military personnel participating in the full-scale war against Ukraine were banned from using the Max messenger due to security concerns.
