Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the King of the United Kingdom for his public support and for calling on US lawmakers to increase aid to Ukraine. The head of state wrote about this on his X account.
During his speech, the monarch called on NATO countries to demonstrate “unyielding resolve” in defending Ukraine. Zelenskyy called this gesture critically important for bringing about a stable peace.
"I thank His Majesty King Charles III, the United Kingdom, and all valiant American hearts for this clarion call for unity in support of Ukraine across the Atlantic," the President emphasized.
He also added that it is precisely this consolidation of efforts between Europe and the US that is a decisive factor in establishing a just peace on the continent.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, during his address to the US Congress, British monarch Charles III effectively sent a veiled message to President Donald Trump regarding the need to maintain support for Ukraine and the role of NATO.
The meeting between Charles III and Trump at the White House will take place without cameras — there are fears of a row similar to the one with Zelenskyy.
