The material notes that British Monarchs traditionally convey political messages indirectly, and the mention of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks was not accidental. "Immediately after the events of September 11, when NATO first invoked Article 5... we responded together to this call, as our peoples have done for more than a century, side by side," Charles said.
According to journalists, this is a response to Trump's statements, who has recently criticized the Alliance. The publication emphasizes that it was NATO that supported the United States at a critical moment after the 2001 attacks.
The King also drew a parallel with the modern war in Ukraine. "Today, the same unwavering determination is needed to protect Ukraine and its bravest people - to ensure a truly just and lasting peace," he emphasized.
The publication believes that in this way Charles called on American politicians not to reduce their support for Kyiv in countering russian aggression.
