US Charge d'Affaires a.i. to Ukraine Julie Davis is considering ending her diplomatic career after more than 30 years of service. The reason is said to be disagreements with US President Donald Trump's position on supporting Ukraine.

This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources.

Davis informed the US Department of State of her intention to leave the service. At the same time, the department stated that she continues to perform her duties in the position.

Julie Davis has been working as US Charge d'Affaires a.i. to Ukraine since May 2025. She replaced Bridget Brink, who left the post in April 2025.

The FT also notes that in October 2025, Davis was not informed in advance of the nomination of John Breslow as the next US Ambassador to Cyprus, despite the fact that she also served as Chargé D'affaires in Cyprus.

The article also mentions that the US Embassy in Kyiv during the Trump presidency faced difficulties in appointing and retaining ambassadors, in particular due to staff rotations and the recall of diplomats.

As a reminder, in April 2025, US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink left her post and resigned.
