Russia, the aggressor nation, sends its remotely piloted Shaheds deeper and deeper into Ukraine's rear thanks to MESH technology, which creates a chain of UAVs equipped with radio modems through which information is transmitted in the air. Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash), an advisor to the Minister of Defense, reported this on his Telegram channel on Tuesday, April 28.

Beskrestnov noted that currently, Shaheds and Gerberas are penetrating deeper and deeper into our rear using MESH modems. According to him, the operational range of the guided Shaheds currently extends from the north to Kyiv, from the west to Poltava, and from the south to Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, and Mykolaiv.

"As I have already explained, MESH technology allows for the formation of a chain of UAVs equipped with radio modems, through which information is transmitted in the air. The system is constructed in this way. On enemy territory, at high points and on masts, there are special long-range communication antennas (these are exactly the ones we destroyed in Belarus). Communication with the drone can reach distances of up to 220 kilometers. But for communication to work, the drone must be flying very high. Otherwise, the curvature of the Earth’s surface will prevent the establishment of a communication channel,” wrote the Defense Minister's advisor.

At the moment of the strike, Shaheds try to stay close to each other to create a strong radio signal. If the pilot controls the drones manually using navigation instruments, electronic warfare does not work, Beskrestnov emphasized.
