The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed yet another agent of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the aggressor state, the russian federation (GRU), in the Donetsk Region. He provided coordinates for new shelling of Kramatorsk and tracked down armored vehicles belonging to the Defense Forces to set them on fire. This is stated in a report by the SSU.

According to the case file, the perpetrator was a member of a local group that engaged in looting at sites of enemy strikes.

He came to the russians’ attention through Telegram channels, where he posted comments in support of the kremlin regime.

In exchange for money, the agent agreed to direct shelling at the district center and set fire to Ukrainian defenders’ military equipment.

To guide airstrikes, the perpetrator patrolled the frontline town and monitored areas where Defense Forces personnel were concentrated. He also tracked down and set fire to an Armed Forces of Ukraine armored vehicle that was carrying out combat missions on the front lines.

"SSU officers detained him at his residence. Simultaneously, Defense Forces locations within the enemy’s reconnaissance zone were secured. During searches, a smartphone was seized from the detainee, which he used to collect intelligence and communicate with his handler from the Russian GRU," the security service reported.

Security Service investigators informed the agent that he is suspected of treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The suspect is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Security Service detained another coordinator of russian missile and drone attacks in the Odesa Region. She turned out to be a local FSB agent who was preparing coordinates for a new series of strikes on the southern region.
