The European Union has approved a support package for Ukraine totaling EUR 90 billion over two years. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Thursday, April 23.

Zelenskyy noted that thanks to the loan, Ukraine will fulfill its social obligations to its citizens and support the military. According to him, work is underway to ensure that the first tranche of this support package is available in May-June.

"Funds from the European package will be directed, in particular, toward weapons production, the procurement of necessary weapons from partners—which we do not yet produce in Ukraine — as well as preparations for the coming winter for our energy sector and critical infrastructure," the head of state emphasized.

In addition, Zelenskyy will discuss with partners in Cyprus the sanctions pressure on russia and a new format of cooperation — Drone Deals.
