A large-scale installation featuring 20,000 teddy bears—symbolizing Ukrainian children illegally abducted by russia—has been set up on the National Mall in Washington. Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Olha Stefanishyna, has reported this.
The toys were placed outdoors near the US Capitol, forming a large inscription in English: "PUTIN ABDUCTED 20,000 UKRAINIAN CHILDREN. BRING KIDS BACK." Each teddy bear in the display represents one child.
Stefanishyna noted that thanks to the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, more than two thousand children have already been returned, but thousands remain far from their families.
"Without the return of Ukrainian children, there can be neither an end to the war nor a lasting, just peace," the diplomat emphasized.
US lawmakers joined the campaign, including Senators Amy Klobuchar and Richard Blumenthal, as well as Representatives Michael McCaul and Jamie Raskin.
Stefanyishyna also stressed that russia and its leadership must remain under maximum sanctions pressure to be held accountable for the crimes committed.
Recall, Ukraine prevented terrorist attacks at schools in two regions: russia had recruited minors.
