Today, April 22, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles arrived in Kyiv on an official visit. She paid tribute to the fallen Ukrainian defenders and discussed further military and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
It was reported by the press service of the Spanish Ministry of Defense.
"The minister's first working day in Kyiv began with a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Ukraine's defenders. The Wall of Memory on Mykhailivska Square became a place of honor for those who gave their lives for their homeland. Spain is always with Ukraine," the statement said.

Special attention was also paid to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on the battlefield. The Spanish Ministry of Defense noted that drones play a key role in the war in Ukraine. And this year alone, border guards shot down 4,000 drones.
That's why Robles reiterated to the Head of the State Border Guard Service Valerii Vavryniuk Spain's support in the form of equipment, training and humanitarian cooperation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, following a new meeting in the Ramstein format, five partners confirmed the decision to make new contributions to the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program, under which partner countries purchase weapons from the United States for the needs of the Ukrainian army. Spain is among them.
