The Security Service prevented a contract killing in Odesa. Law enforcers detained an FSB agent who was preparing to eliminate the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The offender installed a GPS tracker on the military's car, with the help of which the killer was supposed to track and kill the serviceman with a firearm. This is said in the SSU statement.

The investigation showed that the assassination attempt was prepared by a former resident of the Kirovohrad Region, who had lived in the aggressor country of russia for the previous 15 years. She came to the attention of the FSB when she contacted the moscow office of Viktor Medvedchuk's political project, "Other Ukraine."

There, the woman hoped to receive legal assistance after being accused of theft. However, instead of legal advice, the ex-MP's representatives "handed over" the suspect to the FSB. In exchange for "closing the case," russian special services "sent" the agent to Odesa to prepare an assassination attempt on a commander of an Special Operations Forces unit.

After arriving in the port city, the agent rented an apartment in a house where the military man lived. She also used FSB money to buy a used car to drive to the parking lot where the potential 'target's' car was parked.

The suspect then installed a GPS tracker under the hood of the Ukrainian soldier's car, which she received from the FSB before leaving for Ukraine. With the help of remote access to the "beacon", the russian special service hoped to track the routes and time intervals of the military's movement.

The FSB planned to use the obtained intelligence to eliminate the Ukrainian special forces officer.

It is noted that the Security Service detained the agent red-handed immediately after planting a GPS tracker when she was heading towards the state border in a taxi to escape to russia through third countries.

During the searches, they seized her smartphone, which she used to coordinate her actions with her FSB handler under the guise of a "close" relationship.

Security Service investigators served the agent a notice of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The indictment against the suspect was sent to court. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all persons involved in the preparation of the attempted murder.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a minor was detained in the Poltava Region who was preparing a double terrorist attack on the order of the russian federation.
