The Italian Foreign Ministry summoned the russian ambassador in Rome over the offensive statements of russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov against Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. In particular, he called her a fascist, a disgrace, a traitor and a b****.

This was reported by the Italian publication ANSA.

"I summoned the russian ambassador Paramonov to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to express an official protest in connection with the extremely serious and offensive statements made by TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov on russian television against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, to whom I express my full solidarity and support," Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on social media.

Solovyov spoke in Italian during the program, using vulgar words, in particular, calling the Prime Minister a "fascist, a certified idiot, a bad old woman" and calling her "B**** Meloni" (Italian: "PuttaMeloni").

"A disgrace to humanity. Betrayal is its second name: it betrayed Trump, to whom it had previously sworn allegiance," Solovyov added during his program.

"Europe has entered into a direct war with us, we heard this from Merz's statements," the journalist emphasized in russian, and then continued, speaking in Italian about the Italian Prime Minister, "about this disgrace to humanity, a natural animal, a certified idiot, Giorgia PuttaMeloni. What an ugly, bad woman."

Then he continued in russian: "This Meloni, a fascist animal who betrayed her voters, running with completely different slogans... But betrayal is her middle name. She betrayed Trump, to whom she previously swore allegiance."

Earlier, Ukrainian News Agency reported on changes in the political relationship between Trump and Meloni, as the latter openly criticized the US President. In particular, in early April, Maloney, who is usually considered one of the main allies of US President Donald Trump in Europe, criticized Trump's statements to European countries and their position on the war with Iran. Later, Meloni sharply condemned Trump's "unacceptable" comments about the Pope.
