Ukrainians paid UAH 83 million in tax on luxury cars in Q1: which regions are the leaders

During January-March 2026, Ukrainians who are owners of luxury cars paid UAH 82.9 million in transport tax to the budget. The leading regions are the city of Kyiv, the Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv and Kyiv Regions.

This was reported by the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

At the same time, compared to the corresponding period last year, revenues increased by 25.5% or + UAH 16.8 million.

The largest amounts came from car owners:

• the city of Kyiv - UAH 24.4 million (almost a third of the tax paid),
• the Dnipropetrovsk Region - UAH 8.3 million,
• the Lviv Region - UAH 6.6 million,
• the Kyiv Region - UAH 6.1 million.

The tax rate is fixed - UAH 25,000 per year for each unit of transport. The State Tax Service of Ukraine reminded that the obligation to pay tax arises provided that the passenger car meets two criteria:

1. Age of the car: no more than 5 years have passed since the year of manufacture.
2. Cost: the average market value exceeds the established threshold - more than 375 times the minimum wage established on January 1 of the tax (reporting) year (in 2026 - this is more than UAH 3.2 million).

This year, the list of cars subject to transport tax includes 1,259 premium and luxury models, determined by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. Among the brands whose cars are most often included in the list: Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Porsche, Land Rover, Tesla, Jaguar, Maserati, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, as well as some expensive Toyota and Volvo models.

You can independently check whether a car is on the official list on the website of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine by the parameters: make, model, year of manufacture, engine capacity and type of fuel.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in Kyiv, due to an attack on the night of April 16, Mercedes-Benz, Kia and Ducati salons were damaged. Many cars burned down.
