Preparations for the new heating season in Ukraine almost immediately after the end of the heating season. This year, the Ukrainian Government is betting not only on restoring the infrastructure, but also on simplifying the rules in the energy sector, which should accelerate key processes in the restoration of the industry, according to the website of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

During a meeting of the Coalition Council, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko discussed with MPs, mayors and experts the possibilities of deregulating the industry.

"The government, together with the regions and communities, is implementing resilience plans. We are preparing for the next heating season now - we are taking into account the experience of this difficult winter and new threats from the enemy," she said.

One of the priorities has been the development of distributed generation. According to Svyrydenko, the state aims to provide 4 GW of new capacity.

"The government has simplified connection procedures, shortened installation times, reduced the number of permits and updated the regulatory framework. This is already yielding results," the Prime Minister assured.

At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed that the government is responding to business complaints about the delay in processes by regional energy and gas companies.

"This is unacceptable in the context of preparing for winter," she emphasized, calling for reporting such cases via the Pulse platform.

As previously reported, the day before, Prime Minister Svyrydenko discussed Ukraine's investment "wish list" in priority areas with the IFC in the United States.
