The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (Energy Commission) plans to raise the maximum prices for electricity on the day-ahead market, the intraday market and the balancing market.
This is announced by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The Energy Market Department has already issued a corresponding proposal following the results of an open discussion held on April 17.
The Energy Market Department's proposal is as follows:
- on the day-ahead market and the intraday market, the maximum price threshold is UAH 15,000.00/MWh for all hours; the minimum price threshold is UAH 10.00/MWh for all hours;
- on the balancing market: the maximum price threshold is UAH 17,000.00/MWh for all hours; minimum price threshold - UAH 0.01/MWh for all hours.
Their implementation is planned from May 1, 2026.
ExPro notes that this is not yet a final decision, the draft resolution will soon be submitted to the meeting of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine.
Most likely, the final approval will be next week.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities has decided to increase electricity transmission tariffs from January 1, 2026 to March 31, 2026 by 4% to UAH 713.68/MWh, and from April 1 to the end of 2026 by 8.3% to UAH 742.91/MWh.
