The United States has lifted sanctions restrictions on the purchase of russian oil and oil products transported by sea for 30 days, despite previous public assurances not to renew the relevant licenses.

This is indicated in the statement of the US Treasury Department.

"The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is issuing Russia-related General License 134B, "Authorizing the Delivery and Sale of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products of Russian Federation Origin Loaded on Vessels as of April 17, 2026," the document says.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 13, the United States lifted sanctions on russian oil, which at that time had already been loaded onto tankers at sea. Exceptions to the restrictions were introduced until April 11.
