A private air defense group in the Kharkiv Region first shot down a jet fighter at a speed of 400+ km/h. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported this on Facebook on Friday, April 17.
Fedorov noted that the aggressor country of russia is scaling up the use of jet drones, which are becoming faster and more difficult to intercept. According to him, Ukraine continues to build multi-level air defense and strengthen air defense.
"We continue to develop the private air defense project. A private air defense group in the Kharkiv Region is actively shooting down Shaheds, in particular, the first shooting down of a jet drone was recorded," Fedorov said.
Currently, private air defense groups are being formed at 19 enterprises, which are integrated into the unified management system of the Air Force and work as part of the general air defense architecture.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 30, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that the first air defense group, prepared by one of the companies participating in the experimental project, is already operating and shooting down enemy targets.
