On the night of April 17, drones of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine struck the logistics base of the russian Rubicon center of unmanned systems in occupied Manhush, Donetsk Region.
This was reported by the Special Operations Forces (SOF).
The strike was carried out by Middle-strike units.
After the strike, explosions and subsequent ignition with large-scale fires were recorded at the facility.
According to the SOF, Rubicon uses most of the strike and reconnaissance drones available in the russian federation against the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, with the exception of the Shahed drones. The center's armament includes FPV drones, in particular fiber-optic, strike UAVs Molniya and Lancet, reconnaissance vehicles ZALA, Orlan, SuperCam, as well as naval unmanned systems.
What is the russian Rubicon Center
The russian Rubicon Center is a structure of the russian Ministry of Defense that specializes in the combat use of unmanned systems and centrally manages their development, operator training and tactics of use at the front.
According to estimates by Ukrainian military and international analysts, Rubicon plays the role of one of the key units of the russian army in the field of drone warfare, combining the functions of combat use, training and introduction of new technologies.
According to open sources, the center operates as a network of specialized units and receives priority funding for the development and scaling of unmanned systems, including FPV drones, strike and reconnaissance UAVs, as well as maritime unmanned platforms.
