The level of interception of cruise missiles by Ukraine's air defense system has reached almost 80%, and drones - up to 90%. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We have strengthened air defense. The level of interception of cruise missiles has reached almost 80%, and drones - up to 90%," he said.
Fedorov also spoke about his address at the Ramstein meeting to defense ministers, partners, and colleagues.
The minister noted that Ukraine's approach to the war is based on three domains - air, land and economy, and it is already yielding results.
Fedorov said that this winter the enemy fired 462 ballistic missiles, almost 600 cruise missiles and 27,000 Shahed drones at Ukraine to destroy the energy system and leave people without electricity, but Ukraine has withstood.
He thanked the partners for their support through the PURL program, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and Romania for Patriot missiles, and the United States for enabling partners to purchase the necessary interceptors.
"On the battlefield, we are not only holding our ground - we are increasing pressure. Russia's losses have reached a level that exceeds the pace of its mobilization. We are making every meter of Ukrainian land extremely expensive for the enemy. Today, Russia is losing 254 soldiers per square kilometer, and in the Donetsk Region - an average of 428," the minister said.
Fedorov added that in parallel, Ukraine is increasing pressure on russia's economy, particularly in the energy sector, disrupting logistics, increasing costs and reducing resources to finance the war.
He emphasized that Ukraine's priorities remain unchanged: air defense, scaling up Ukrainian drones and missiles, and providing long-range artillery ammunition.
Fedorov announced the presentation of new initiatives at the Ramstein to strengthen cooperation and bring a just and lasting peace closer.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early April, the Ministry of Defense announced that in March, Ukraine's air defense forces demonstrated the highest level of efficiency in recent months, neutralizing 89.9% of enemy air targets.
In April, Defense Minister's adviser Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash) said that Ukraine had launched innovative private air defense system.
