US President Donald Trump said he's not worried about Viktor Orbán's defeat in the election and that he likes Hungary's new Prime Minister Peter Magyar. He said this in a comment to ABC News journalist Jonathan Karl.

"I think the new guy will do a good job - he's a good guy (Magyar, ed.)," Trump said.

The US leader doesn't know if it would have made a difference if he had gone to Hungary (instead of Vance) to campaign for Orbán.

"He was far behind. I wasn't very involved in it. Viktor, though, is a good guy," Trump said.

He noted that Magyar was previously a member of Orban's Fidesz party and has a similar position, in particular on migration policy.

"I think he will be a good prime minister," the US President added.
