Residents of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Region face a complete lack of mobile communication. The problem is particularly acute in Vasylivka, Orlianske, Skelky, Pervomaiske and Shevchenkove. This is reported by the National Resistance Center.
It is noted that operators such as +7 Telecom and MirTelecom formally operate in the region. These are rapidly created structures of the occupation authorities that operate without proper regulation and have no actual obligations regarding the quality of communication. The infrastructure operates on the basis of equipment that previously belonged to Ukrainian operators and was appropriated after the occupation.
The Center emphasizes that the lack of stable communication has critical consequences for the daily life of the locals. People cannot contact relatives or call emergency services. In some villages, such as Skelky, there has been no mobile communication since August, while in others it has been absent for about a year.
According to the National Resistance Center, the only alternative is cable internet, but it does not provide reliable communication. Due to regular power outages, access to the network is often interrupted. As a result, residents of the communities are in conditions of de facto isolation.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the National Resistance Center told how the occupiers are trying to "sell" the war to tourists.
