The leader of the Hungarian Tisza party, Péter Magyar, who won the parliamentary elections in Hungary, opposed the application of an accelerated procedure for Ukraine's accession to the European Union. He said this during a rally on Monday, April 13.
Magyar said that all EU candidate countries should go through the same procedure. According to him, Ukraine should first go through the entire procedure, after which Hungary will hold a referendum on whether to admit it into the Union.
Péter Magyar on Ukraine:
We do not support Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU
On the one hand, we are talking about a country at war; it is absolutely absurd for a country at war to be admitted to the European Union. pic.twitter.com/mmWssethx4

In his opinion, this will not happen for at least the next ten years.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 12, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán admitted the defeat of his Fidesz party and congratulated Péter Magyar's Tisza on winning the parliamentary elections.
On April 13, Magyar called on the Hungarian president to resign and announced a course to strengthen NATO.
