The World Bank has worsened the forecast for Ukraine's GDP growth from 1.8% to 1.2% in 2026.

This is stated in the bank's materials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is noted that the forecasts for Ukraine largely depend on the duration of the war and stable external support.

If the fighting ends within the expected timeframe, economic growth may accelerate in 2027 due to large-scale reconstruction and the restoration of consumption.

According to World Bank analysts, there will be no sustainable economic growth without deep structural reforms.

Among the main obstacles are a decrease in business activity, an increase in market concentration, the dominance of inefficient state-owned enterprises, high dependence on natural resources, as well as the loss of cheap energy and eastern sales markets.

In addition, the World Bank predicts that Ukraine's GDP growth next year will be about 4%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January-February 2026, gross domestic product decreased by 1.2%.
