Pavlo Palisa, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that lowering the mobilization age below 25 is not currently being considered.
"I will try to answer as frankly as possible on such a sensitive issue. For 10 months now, we have had a much better situation with mobilization and positive dynamics that allow the Defense Forces to feel better than last year," Palisa said.
He added that compared to last year, both recruitment and mobilization have improved. Also, he said, certain operational gaps that were in the process of mobilization were eliminated.
"Although a lot of work has been done and more work needs to be done," Palisa emphasized.
The deputy head of the President's Office emphasized that there are no plans to lower the age threshold for mobilization below 25 years and change the rules of departure for men aged 18-23 years.
"At the moment, this is not being considered for both positions," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, there are about two million people in Ukraine, who evade mobilization, and about 290,000 military personnel who have left their military units without permission.
