Ukrainian drone manufacturer General Cherry and Croatian technology company Orqa have officially cemented their partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding. The company's press service reports.

The agreement provides for the implementation of two key projects: the construction of a secure underground factory in Ukraine as part of the Build in Ukraine initiative and the launch of serial production facilities in Croatia for the production of components.

Orqa, a prominent player in the European UAV market and cooperating with over 20 NATO countries, will provide a technological base for the production of electronics and peripherals. The main goal of the cooperation is to reduce the dependence of Ukrainian developers on imported parts, especially those supplied from third countries.

"We strive for complete localization of component production in Ukraine, which will ensure independence from foreign suppliers and a fundamentally new level of resilience for the Defense Forces," the press service of General Cherry explained.

In addition to meeting the needs of the Ukrainian front, the joint production is focused on supplying products to the Alliance countries. The developers plan to present the first results of joint work in the near future. It is also worth recalling that earlier "General Cherry" has already concluded an agreement on the creation of a joint venture with the American manufacturer of tactical solutions Wilcox.

Reference: "General Cherry" is a Ukrainian DefenceTech company specializing in the development and serial production of FPV kamikaze strike drones and interceptor drones. According to Forbes, in the first half of 2025 alone, the company's revenue amounted to UAH 1.5 billion. The company's capacities allow it to produce about 50,000 drones per month. In addition to the line of FPV drones, the manufacturer supplies the Defense Forces with Bullet "anti-shahed" interceptors and "General Cherry AIR" counter-intelligence drones.

We will remind you that the Pentagon selected 11 drone suppliers for the US Army - a Ukrainian company made it to the finals.
