Last week, the first batches of greenhouse tomatoes from local combines arrived on the Ukrainian market, but this did not stop the further increase in prices.

This is stated in a report by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is worth noting that in 2025, Ukrainian greenhouse farms shipped the first batches of tomatoes on average one and a half weeks later than in the current season.

At the same time, product harvests remain small due to adverse weather conditions.

The combines offer the first batches of greenhouse tomatoes at UAH 150-170 per kilogram, which is on average 66% more expensive than at the start of the season last year.

According to market participants, greenhouse farms will be able to ship really large batches of tomatoes no earlier than in two weeks.

It is noted that the main supply on the Ukrainian market is still imported vegetables from Turkey.

According to market participants, Turkish tomatoes are offered slightly cheaper than products from local greenhouses.

Prices for imported tomatoes range from UAH 130-150 per kilogram, depending on the quality and volume of batches.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, after some growth, prices for cucumbers in Ukraine began to fall.
