On the night of Monday, April 6, russian occupiers attacked energy facilities in the Chernihiv, Nizhyn and Novhorod-Siverskyi districts, as a result of which more than 400,000 consumers were left without electricity.
This was announced by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Vyacheslav Chaus and the joint-stock company Chernihivoblenergo in the Telegram messenger, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Last night and this morning, the enemy struck energy facilities in the Chernihiv Region. There were four hits. Most districts of the region are now without electricity. Chernihiv and communities are switching to alternative power sources for critical infrastructure, where there is such a need," Chaus wrote.
He noted that the power engineers will begin work on restoration when the security situation allows.
In turn, the Chernihivoblenergo company reported that as a result of the attack on a power facility in the Chernihiv Region, more than 76,000 consumers in the Chernihiv and Koriukiv districts were without electricity.
Due to damage to a power facility in the Nizhyn district, 340,000 consumers in the cities of Chernihiv and Pryluky, the Chernihiv and Pryluky districts were without electricity.
"As a result of the enemy attack, a power facility in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district was damaged. More than 10,000 consumers in the same district were without electricity," the company added.
The head of the Regional Military Administration reported that in addition to the attacks on power facilities, the enemy also attacked a food industry enterprise in the Kholmyn community.
Four explosions were heard there.
The fire was extinguished at the site of the attack.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 21, russian strikes on the energy infrastructure of the Chernihiv Region resulted in power outages in the regional center and 430,000 consumers in three districts.
