Canada to provide Ukraine with nearly USD 40 million in humanitarian assistance - country's government

Canada has announced a new humanitarian assistance package for Ukraine worth more than CAD 50 million (approximately USD 39 million).

This was reported by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In particular, Secretary of State Randeep Sarai announced the allocation of CAD 51.1 million to support Ukraine in both overcoming urgent humanitarian challenges and in the process of long-term recovery and reforms.

It is expected that the funding will be directed to trusted international partners working directly on the ground. The funds will be used to provide critical needs - in particular, emergency medical care, shelter, access to water, sanitation and food.

In addition, part of the assistance is planned to be directed to strengthening Ukraine's institutional capacity. This includes the development of inclusive public services, support for veterans, and improvement of the public administration system in accordance with the requirements of European integration.

The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the initiative involves increasing the efficiency of government agencies, in particular in implementing reforms, formulating economic recovery policies, and ensuring transparency and accountability of the authorities.
