Director of the A-95 Consulting Group Serhii Kuiun said that yesterday the London ICE exchange closed at USD 1521/t for gasoil, the day's growth was USD 155/t, and today the exchange is not working.
He said this on his Facebook page, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
Kuiun writes that diesel fuel quotations in the South of Europe amounted to USD 1617/t (CIF).
In March, the growth more than doubled.
"This is a record for the last ... I don't even know if there were such prices before ... They say something similar was in the 1970s," Kuiun added.
For Ukraine, this is a disappointing forecast, namely, if we focus on ICE, the cost of diesel fuel at the border will be UAH 95 per liter.
And then according to the familiar algorithm: UAH 2 per liter for transportation through Ukraine, UAH 3 for gas station expenses (staff salaries, electricity, etc.).
According to Kuiun, there is still a margin, but even without those UAH 3-5 per liter, it is already clear that in the future, UAH 100 per liter is a realistic story if the situation with the global fuel crisis does not change.
The wholesale prices are currently already in the range of UAH 90-93.5 per liter.
He noted that UAH 100 will not be tomorrow, not in a week, but the trend is obvious and it is progressing throughout Europe, in some places there are no fuel stations.
It is said that in Asia, there is a horror - shortages, queues at gas stations, etc.
Kuiun noted that there is good news: there is no shortage of diesel fuel in Ukraine.
In March, a record 577,000 tons were imported since 2021, which created a good carry-over balance for April.
In addition, all retail chains have also contracted for April, and at the same time there is a decline in sales (although you can't tell from the roads).
As for gasoline, there are stocks for more than a month (this is on top of current supplies).
So, there will be fuel, but the question of price is open.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the last day of March, retail prices for gasoline at Ukrainian gas stations continued to fall, while prices for diesel and gas increased.
