On the evening of April 2, a truck collided with a Kharkiv-Poltava passenger train at a level crossing near the Kolomak station in the village of Shelestove, Bohodukhiv District.

It was reported by the Ukrzaliznytsia and the National Police.

The train driver applied emergency braking before the collision, which reduced the force of the impact. There were no injuries among the passengers.

The truck driver was injured in the accident and was provided with medical assistance.

After the collision, the locomotive and at least one car were damaged, and some of the cars derailed.

As a result of the accident, trains in the Kharkiv direction are running on detoured routes with delays. Passengers of train No. 21/22 were transferred to reserve cars, and are currently traveling through Myrhorod.

As of the morning of April 3, restoration work is underway at the site.

Ukrzaliznytsia has changed the route of two more trains: No. 94 Chełm - Kharkiv and No. 8 Odesa - Kharkiv are running via Poltava-Kyivska, Poltava-Pivdenna, Berestyn and Merefa, bypassing Liubotyn.
