On April 1, the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country, russia, once again announced the complete capture of the Luhansk Region. The Third Separate Assault Brigade, in a comment to the Ukrainian News Agency, denied this information, confirming that it was holding positions on the last lines of the region.

Ukrainian forces remain in the Luhansk Region

Despite russian statements, units of the Third Assault Brigade continue to hold defense in the areas of the settlements of Nadiya, Novoyehorivka, and Hrekivka. According to the brigade, there is no reason to speak about the complete capture of the region.

"We do not join in the "congratulations" on the professional holiday of russian propagandists - because we stand on the defense of the last lines of defense of the Luhansk Region!" the brigade noted.

Over the past six months, the enemy has made 144 assault attempts in the brigade's area of responsibility, involving more than 360 soldiers and 19 units of motorized vehicles. Russian losses during this period amounted to 260 people killed and more than 80 wounded.

This is not the first time that the russian occupiers have made a statement about the capture of the Luhansk Region. The region has been under partial occupation since 2014, but Ukrainian forces hold some of its areas despite constant pressure.

As previously reported, on March 29, in the area of the village of Novosvitlivka (TOT of the Luhansk Region), a military echelon of the occupiers was destroyed.
