US President Donald Trump said the United States could end its military operation against Iran within two to three weeks.
This was reported by Reuters.
"We'll be out of there very soon," he told reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on March 31.
He added that the withdrawal of troops could take place "within two weeks, maybe two, maybe three."
In addition, Trump added that Tehran does not need to make a deal with Washington to end the conflict.
"Iran does not need to make a deal. No, they do not need to make a deal with me," he said when asked whether successful diplomacy was a necessary condition for the US to end the conflict.
Instead, according to Trump, the condition for ending the operation is that Iran "goes back to the Stone Age" and does not have the ability to obtain nuclear weapons in the near future.
"Then we will leave," said the US President.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the day before, Trump made a sharp statement to allies who refused to participate in the forceful resolution of the Iranian issue, warning that Washington would stop supporting the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump also criticized France for refusing to allow aircraft to fly over the area during the operation against Iran.
Earlier, US President Trump threatened to destroy all power plants, oil wells and the island of Kharg and desalination plants of Iran if a peace agreement is not concluded.
