The events in Bucha proved that a strong state with a powerful army is the key to the security and future of Ukrainians. The Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov has stated this during the commemoration of the victims of the russian occupation in Bucha.
On his Telegram channel, Budanov noted that what happened in Bucha became an important realization for our society. In particular, in the context of what real security guarantees are.
"The events in Bucha showed each of us how valuable our own free state with a strong army is - it is literally a guarantee of security, the only chance to live and work on our land, to plan the future of our children," the head of the President's Office said.
Budanov emphasized that Ukraine continues to fight not only for its territories, but first of all for the lives of citizens and the restoration of justice.
"We continue to fight and defend Ukraine for the sake of life itself, and also for the sake of justice. And it will inevitably come," he said.
After the de-occupation of Bucha in 2022, mass killings of civilians during the russian occupation were recorded. These facts received wide international publicity and became the subject of war crimes investigations.
