Spain has closed its airspace to American aircraft that participated in attacks on Iran. Defense Minister Margarita Robles has stated this, as Reuters reported on Monday, March 30.

Robles emphasized that Spain will not provide its airspace for US aircraft involved in attacks on Iran.

"We don't authorize either the use of military bases or the use of airspace for actions related to the war in Iran," the defense minister said.

Economy Minister  Carlos Cuerpo said, that this decision is part of the Spanish government's decision not to participate in the war, which was started unilaterally and contradicts international law.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 3, US President Donald Trump announced his decision to "terminate all relations" with Spain after Madrid did not allow the use of its military bases for strikes in the Middle East.
