Ukraine and Bulgaria have officially cemented their strategic partnership for the next decade. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and acting Bulgarian Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov signed a security agreement in Kyiv that provides for long-term military support, joint arms production, and enhanced cooperation in the energy sector. It was announced at a joint press conference by Zelenskyy and Gyurov.
According to the Head of State, the document is the result of long work of the teams of both countries and is an important step towards strengthening the defense capabilities of the entire region.
A key aspect of the agreements was the agreement on the joint development of the defense industry in the territories of both countries. The parties will pay special attention to the production of drones, which, according to the president, will significantly strengthen both nations. In addition to the defense sector, the agreement covers critical cooperation in the energy sector, aimed at increasing the resilience of Ukrainian infrastructure in the face of constant threats.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Bulgarian side for the visit and emphasized that this agreement officially fixes the level of trust and readiness of Bulgaria to support Ukraine on the path to restoring peace.
"I think it strengthens both our countries, both our nations," the President emphasized during the joint press conference.
As a reminder, today, March 30, the head of the Bulgarian government and five ministers arrived in Kyiv.
