Pope Leo XIV said in his Sunday homily that Jesus does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war. His words were reported by Vatican News on Sunday, March 29.
Pontiff celebrated Mass on Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord and spoke about Jesus as the King of Peace, who rejects war and refuses to listen to the prayers of those who wage war.
"Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war. He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: “Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood," the Pope said.
He mentioned the many people in the world who turn to God with "the painful groans of all those who are oppressed by violence and are victims of war."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 29, Pope Leo XIV became the first pontiff in 488 years to visit Monaco.
