US President Donald Trump's signature will appear on future US paper money along with the Secretary of the Treasury, which will be the first time in history for an incumbent head of the White House. This was reported by the US Department of the Treasury and Reuters.
Starting this summer, banknotes with Trump's signature will appear in circulation. In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, the President's signature will appear along with the signature of the Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.
"Under President Trump's leadership, we are moving towards unprecedented economic growth, the continued dominance of the dollar, and fiscal resilience and stability. There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than with US dollar banknotes bearing his name, and it is only fitting that this historic currency be issued for the 250th anniversary," said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.
The updated banknotes will also change the signature of the US Treasurer, who reports to the Secretary of the Treasury and heads the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing, for the first time in 165 years.
