More than half of Ukrainians deported from US were immediately sent to territorial recruitment centers - CNN

The tightening of US migration policy under the presidency of Donald Trump has led to the fact that Ukrainian men of draft age are being sent to the front immediately after deportation. This is reported by CNN with reference to the State Border Guard Service.

Of the 45 deported Ukrainians, 24 people were handed over to representatives of the territorial recruitment and social support centers right at the border, as they were wanted.

One of them was Volodymyr Dudnyk, who is currently fighting under the call sign "America". The man did not even have time to see his parents before being sent to the training ground.

"When I was on the plane to Ukraine, I knew what awaited me. But I hoped that maybe they would at least let me go home first. Everything happened even faster than I thought," he told reporters.

Despite the advice of his relatives to escape from the army, Volodymyr decided to fight, struck by the number of fresh graves of soldiers that he saw during his trip around the country.

Another deportee, Anton Smovzh, whose guilt in the US was never proven, describes his experience of mobilization as extremely fast: according to him, blood was taken for analysis in three minutes and immediately declared fit.

"My son is a US citizen, and de facto he was also deported, because my wife cannot work with a small child, so they had to leave," says Smovzh, who is currently hiding from the service in Kyiv.

The US Administration claims that it deports mainly criminals, but people without criminal records also fall under mass raids. For Ukrainians, this means a de facto return from overseas directly to the combat zone.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, previously 50 Ukrainians deported from the US returned to Ukraine.
