This week, the Ukrainian market is experiencing another decline in selling prices for potatoes.

This is stated in a report by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to experts, the reason for the decline is a rather low trading activity, while the supply on the market has increased significantly after farms began to sell off existing volumes with the onset of warm weather.

Today, Ukrainian producers offer potatoes at UAH 5-11 per kilogram, which is on average 15% cheaper than at the end of the previous working week.

The main reason for the decline in prices, according to the producers themselves, is a significant increase in the volume of substandard products on the market.

Farmers are forced to actively sell potatoes from unequipped storage facilities, as their quality is rapidly deteriorating due to relatively warm weather.

It is worth noting that currently potatoes in Ukraine are sold on average 62% cheaper than at the end of March 2025.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, beet prices continue to decline in Ukraine and sales have dropped significantly.
