The Hungarian airline Wizz Air said that the message about "returning to Ukraine" in social networks concerned only the promotion of career opportunities for Ukrainians and did not mean the resumption of flights.
The airline said this in response to a request from Suspilne.
Wizz Air says the campaign was aimed at attracting Ukrainian specialists and popularizing work for the airline.
Earlier, Wizz Air's Instagram posted the message "Ukraine, we are coming home", which led to the registration page for a virtual information session for pilots.
The company emphasized that the purpose of the campaign was to promote career opportunities for Ukrainian citizens and support the development of civil aviation, and not to create the impression of resuming flights.
The airline noted that due to the war and closed airspace, it is currently unable to resume flights to or from Ukraine.
Wizz Air also said that it expects to return to the Ukrainian market after the war is over and aims to be among the first companies to resume flights to Europe.
The company added that it has already removed the advertising materials and apologized for any misunderstandings, promising to reconsider its approach to communication.

Wizz Air's ad invited pilots to a virtual information session on April 15 to discuss working conditions, pay, and changes in selection. The message used the slogan "Ukraine, we are coming home" and the questionnaire directly asked about interest in working in Ukraine. Similar recruitment events were also announced in several European cities in April.
