The National Bank of Ukraine has conducted another operation to reinforce banks' cash desks with cash, 1 bank bought USD 40 million.
This is stated in the report of the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Results of the National Bank of Ukraine's operations to support banks' cash desks with foreign currency in cash, which took place on March 25, 2026:
- announced volume of operations – USD 50 million and EUR 10 million;
- number of participants – one bank;
- total volume of applications – USD 40 million;
- applications satisfied in full.
The National Bank is ready to continue supporting banks in providing their cash desks with foreign currency. The frequency and volume of relevant operations will depend on the needs of the banking system.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the NBU made the decision to conduct operations to support banks' cash desks on March 6, 2026, as a preventive measure to support banks' cash foreign currency liquidity, if necessary, amid the illegal seizure of Oschadbank's cash collection vehicles in Hungary and the need for time for banks to reorganize their logistics routes. The NBU's operations do not affect the amount of Ukraine's international reserves.
