In the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, an explosion occurred in a residential building at night, after which a large-scale fire broke out. The fire has engulfed at least several floors of the high-rise building, and rescuers are pulling people out of the rubble, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reports.

According to the so-called "governor" of the city, Mikhail Razvozhayev, no deaths have been reported so far. At the same time, the fire is being extinguished and the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred on Korchagina Street. Eyewitnesses report that the flames spread rapidly, and the fire was assigned a high level of complexity.

The blast wave also damaged neighboring buildings, with windows smashed in apartments. Local residents say the sound was heard several kilometers away.

There is also information about the victims: people are being taken out of the rubble, medics are arriving at the scene.

The cause of the explosion has not been officially announced. According to the russian media, one of the versions is the downing of an unknown drone with subsequent detonation, but domestic causes are also being considered.

Prior to that, monitoring channels reported a possible drone threat, but no air alert was announced in the city. Final conclusions are expected after the statements of the occupation authorities.

As a reminder, drones attacked a strategic port of the russian federation in the Leningrad Oblast: a fire broke out after a massive attack.
