The defense company LPP, which produces drones for Ukraine, and Czech police are investigating a fire at a factory in the city of Pardubice for a possible link to russia.
This was reported by Reuters.
Police are treating the incident as a deliberate attack after Czech media received emails from a group protesting against the production of weapons for Israel and claiming responsibility for the fire.
LPP said the fire on Friday damaged production facilities and products stored at the factory, but did not prevent the planned delivery of 40 strike drones to Ukraine.
"While an anti-Israel group has claimed responsibility for the attack, we are also looking into other possible motives, including a potential link to russia," the company said on Monday.
LPP previously said it does not manufacture equipment for Israel and does not cooperate with Israeli defense company Elbit Systems, as plans for cooperation announced in 2023 have never been implemented.
Czech daily Mlada Fronta Dnes, citing sources, reported that, according to preliminary information, the actual purpose of the attack, disguised as an anti-Israeli action, could have been the production of LPP drones for Ukraine.
Police said they were considering various possible motives, but refused to comment on a possible connection with russia.
It should be noted that Ukrainian media also quoted Archer founder and CEO Oleksandr Yaremenko as saying that on Friday the Archer-LPP enterprise in the Czech Republic was "deliberately burned down by a group of people in masks."
