During 4 days of intensive assault operations, enemy lost over 6,000 soldiers - Syrskyi

During four days of intensive assault operations from March 17 to 20, the enemy lost over 6,090 servicemen killed and wounded. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Syrskyi, in particular, reported that from March 17 to 20, the intensity of the enemy's offensive operations increased, the enemy tried to break through the defensive formations of the Ukrainian troops in several strategic directions at once, fierce battles unfolded along the entire line of combat contact, in total, the enemy conducted 619 assault operations during these four days.

The occupiers focused the main blow on the Pokrovsk and Oleksandrivka Axes, where the highest number of enemy attacks was, in particular, in the Pokrovsk Axis the enemy attacked the positions of the Ukrainian troops 163 times, in the Oleksandrivka Axis - 96 times.

The situation remained no less tense in the Kostiantynivka Axis, where russian troops carried out 84 assault operations, as well as in the Ocheretyne, Lyman and Kupyansk Axes, where a total of more than one and a half hundred combat clashes took place.

According to Syrskyi, despite the enormous pressure and the involvement of significant reserves, the russian command was unable to fulfill the tasks set, thanks to the professional, coordinated actions of Ukrainian soldiers in several Axes, the enemy's offensive actions were stopped, high-intensity battles continue in some areas of the front, but the enemy is forced to regroup its forces.

The occupiers are trying to bring up new units and are preparing to continue the attacks, betting on worsening weather conditions, which, in their opinion, should reduce the effectiveness of Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance and interfere with the work of unmanned systems and artillery.

"The command of the russian troops threw tens of thousands of soldiers into "meat assaults", but the price of this attempted offensive turned out to be catastrophic for the aggressor. Over four days of intensive assault operations, the enemy lost more than 6,090 servicemen killed and wounded. While during the week the total losses of the enemy amounted to about 8,710 people killed and seriously wounded," the Commander-in-Chief reported.

Also, according to him, the Defense Forces destroyed a lot of enemy military equipment and weapons.

"We were ready for an increase in the intensity of the invasion of the russian horde, so we made the necessary management decisions. The troops received reinforcements, were provided with military equipment, weapons, and ammunition," he said.

Syrskyi noted that in some areas the Defense Forces of Ukraine seized the initiative and are conducting their own active actions, using the tactics of active defense.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 19, Syrskyi reported that with the improvement of weather conditions, the russians have become more active on the front.

On March 22, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the russian occupation forces have intensified their attempts to attack from the border of the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions, trying to take advantage of the more favorable weather.
