World boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk leaves the football field and joins the management of FC Polissya as the first vice president.

The athlete said on his Facebook page.

Oleksandr Usyk has signed an agreement with Polissya that changes his status at the club. Now he will be responsible for the strategic development of the team and the popularization of the club among fans.

"I'm starting a new chapter as the first vice president of Polissya football club. For me, this is not just a position. This is an opportunity to influence, strengthen and develop Ukrainian sports at an even higher level... One of my first areas of focus will be the judicial reform in Ukraine. I believe that transparency and fairness should be the basis of the game," the athlete wrote.

President of FC Polissya Hennadii Butkevych confirmed that one of Usyk's key areas of work in his new position will be participation in the reform of refereeing in Ukrainian football.

Recall that Usyk joined Polissya in 2023, playing several friendly matches for the team before moving to a managerial role.

In March, absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk announced that he plans to fight three more fights before ending his professional career.
