Armed Forces of Ukraine strike russian A-50 aircraft and factory in Alchevsk

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have hit the facilities of the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk Region. Also on March 17, an A-50 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft of the 123rd aircraft repair plant in Stara Russa (Novgorod Oblast of the aggressor country russia) was damaged. This is stated in the message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, March 20.

On the night of March 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the facilities of the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the TOT of the Luhansk Region. This plant is engaged in the manufacture of artillery shells, production and repair of armored steel for military equipment of the occupation army.

"The results of the destruction of the facilities of the 123rd aircraft repair plant in the city of Stara Russa (Novgorod Oblast, russia) on March 17, 2026 have been clarified. The damage to the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft was additionally confirmed. It was on the territory of the enterprise for maintenance and was possibly awaiting modernization," the General Staff noted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian military using an FPV drone destroyed a russian Ka-52 helicopter and the crew that tried to evacuate.
