On March 17, the notification group had to use starter weapons to stop an attack by people who tried to block a car and used tear gas against the military in the Peresypskyi District of Odesa. This is stated in the message of the Odesa regional territorial recruitment and social support center on Friday, March 20.
The territorial recruitment and social support center explained that during the check of the man's documents, it turned out that he was wanted for unauthorized abandonement of a military unit. After that, the man tried to escape, but the notification group detained him.
"This situation attracted the attention of unauthorized persons who, without having reliable information about the legal status of the detainee, actively physically obstructed the lawful actions of the joint notification group. Physical force and tear gas were used against the servicemen, and an attempt was made to block the official vehicles," the statement said.
To stop the attackers, one of the servicemen fired a starter pistol into the air. The territorial recruitment and social support center urged not to interfere with the activities of the military and to correctly interpret the video from the Internet.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in Bukovyna, a territorial recruitment and social support center detained a wanted man with shooting.
