Two russian tankers under sanctions are transporting about 730,000 barrels of oil and 27,000 tons of gas to Cuba.

This is reported by the Financial Times.

The tanker "Anatoly Kolodkin" loaded about 730,000 barrels of oil at the port of Primorsk on March 8 and is expected to arrive in Cuba on April 4.

Samir Madani, co-founder of the marine intelligence company TankerTrackers.com, told the Financial Times that the second vessel, flying the Hong Kong flag, is likely carrying about 27,000 tons of russian gas and is due to arrive on the island on March 23.

In Havana, electricity is being turned off for more than 12 hours a day, and the power system is in a state of "extreme instability". The reason was the cessation of oil supplies from Venezuela after the US actions against Nicolas Maduro in January.

Previously, Donald Trump said that he would be "honored" to seize Cuba and remove the country's current president.

In late January, Donald Trump declared a state of emergency against Cuba and imposed additional tariffs against countries that supply it with oil, accusing Havana of collaborating with russia, China, Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as human rights violations.

In response, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez declared an "international emergency" due to the US actions.
