Director of the A-95 Consulting Group Serhii Kuyun writes that the Government has decided to provide assistance to car owners, namely to allocate a UAH 1,000 per month discount when purchasing fuel.
He announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
He noted that he has always been and is against various benefits in the form of different excise rates on motor fuels and other benefits for car owners.
Because the latter are not socially unprotected segments of the population.
"I don't know how it is with us (it seems to be the same), but in Europe, if you have a car, you cannot claim any benefits and subsidies from the state," Kuyun wrote.
Kuyun wonders why the state is helping owners of Mercedeses and Porsches with taxpayers' money.
He believes that it is better to fix the roads, then everyone will be fine, regardless of the class of the car.
"And the main thing is that those UAH 1,000 for the second, and especially for the first, it's like a poultice on a dead man," he wrote.
Kuyun also believes that it is worth setting a market price for gas for consumers of large volumes, the state heavily subsidizes natural gas.
"Those who have money for three-story mansions will easily find money for heating... The same with electricity. Businesses pay UAH 15 per kWh, and the household tariff is UAH 4.32 during the day and UAH 2.16 at night," he added.
This is openly abused by owners of electric cars (a priori, people who are not poor), to whom the state continues to provide considerable benefits at customs clearance (there is no 10% duty, as for cars with internal combustion engines, and almost no excise duty).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 12, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that, based on the results of discussions with the President, the government is preparing a new support package for citizens, including cashback on fuel.
