Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos called US President Donald Trump's threats over board member Susan Rice's statement just a "social media post."
He said this in an interview with Politico.
"It was a social media post, and we don't think it crossed the line. Of course, it wasn't perfect, but it's something that's often expressed on social media. I think it's very important to be able to separate the noise from the signal, and I think a lot of things happen in a world where there's a lot of noise around," he said.
Recall that earlier, Trump called on Netflix to fire board member Susan Rice, who is also a former adviser to former US President Barack Obama, or face the consequences after she said that Democrats would take action against corporations that "kneel" to Trump.
Sarandos noted that during subsequent meetings with Trump, the latter raised the issue of tariffs for the film and television industry many times.
"And, hopefully, I convinced him to abandon them. I just said the same thing I said before. I think incentives work much better," he added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the meantime, Paramount Skydance reached an agreement to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery for USD 111 billion, while Netflix refused to participate in the deal.
