In an interview with journalist Fareed Zakaria, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the aggressor country russia has handed over Shahed-type strike UAVs to Iran, which Tehran used to strike US bases and Middle Eastern countries.
A journalist asked Zelenskyy how russia is helping Iran as "the war in the Middle East is intensifying."
"They (Russians) use Iranian licenses, you know that they have built and produced many drones. They have transferred them, I have 100% of the facts that the Iranian regime has used these drones against US bases and against neighbors in the Middle East," the President said.
Zelenskyy added that according to intelligence "shared with us," these Iranian drones contain russian components.
"This is first of all. And secondly, my intelligence told me that they believe that Russia is sharing intelligence with the Iranian regime. They are helping them. My intelligence also said that if Europe and the United States can help Ukraine with intelligence in this war, it means that Russia can help the Iranian regime. This is their point of view on this. So this is a fact. And you can see that it's not a big secret," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, said, that Ukraine, through the assistance of drones "turned its territory into a legitimate target of Iran."
